Inspired by Tradition, Driven by Innovation

Growing up in 90s India, I witnessed firsthand the beauty of simplicity and sustainability in everyday life. My mother, like many others, adorned herself in cotton sarees and salwar suits that grew more comfortable with each wash, embodying the essence of comfort.

But it wasn't just about the clothing; it was about the values ingrained in our culture. I fondly remember how my mother would barter old clothes for utensils, or transform them into new creations like comforters through upcycling or poochas by downcycling.

As I navigated through life, I realized the importance of embracing diversity and inclusivity, both in body shapes and sustainable practices. My own experience of having to alter dresses to fit my triangle-shaped body fuelled my determination to create a brand where every individual feels celebrated, understood, and valued.

With these values at heart, I embarked on a journey to build a brand that not only offers clothing for all body shapes but also promotes circular fashion through upcycling, recycling, reselling, and donation of clothes. I envisioned a brand where comfort meets style, where every garment tells a story of craftsmanship, sustainability, and empowerment.

As a plastic negative brand, we are committed to environmental stewardship, offsetting more plastic than we use in every process. With upcycle, recycle and pre-loved fashion we are contributing to a circular fashion economy. Embracing inclusivity in all aspects, from body types to disability and LGBTQ+ representation, we champion the belief that fashion is for everyone, fostering a community where all individuals can embrace and celebrate their unique identities.

Plastic Neutrality at Nivoraa

Nivoraa, is an impact-oriented brand where we help, build and support the community we thrive in. We take pride in our efforts to inculcate inclusivity, and we want to extend it to the planet as well.

Plastic has become omnipresent over the past few decades. While innovations in eradicating plastic from our daily lives are in progress, it is equally important to recover the plastic that has already been discarded in the environment. We are partnering with ReCircle in their Plastic Neutral Program to not only recover the amount of plastic our business puts out in the environment but also mitigate its effects on the environmental, social and economic fronts of the plastic waste industry.

How are we doing this?

ReCircle’s Plastic Neutral Program is an effort to impact all aspects of the waste management sector. Environmentally, waste is being diverted from landfills & oceans. We are also a part of ReCircle’s social movement that supports the livelihoods of informal waste workers by buying low-valued, non-recyclable plastic from them.

Rest assured, with every order, we are recovering its equal weight and more. Put simply, for each of our product (which weighs 15 grams), we are recovering equal to the weight of 20 shampoo sachets.
